Silver bream (dried) is a freshwater fish with silvery flesh that, after salting and air-drying, becomes a snack. The meat is light-colored, firm, with a moderately salty taste and a “river” aroma. It is eaten as a cold appetizer, usually with lemon, onion, and bread. Drying makes the fish firmer and concentrates its flavor, but due to high salt content, it is not recommended for people with high blood pressure or on a diet.
